The Association of Independent Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria (AINPN), Ondo State has concluded plans to confer posthumous award of excellence on Adedayo Isaac Omolafe (Expensive) and Chief (Mrs) Ruth Olowokere (Madam Do Good) in recognition of their impactful roles while on this divide.

The event is slated to take place at OSDPC multi-purpose events centre in Ijapo estate, Akure, Ondo State on Sunday 22nd December 2024 by 3pm.

Adedayo Isaac Omolafe was a Nigerian politician and legislator who represented Akure North/South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

In his Akure countryhome and beyond, Omolafe’s legacies and commitment to human development are conspicuously imprinted on the sands of reckoning.

He was an ardent crusader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and served as Chairman, Akure South Local Government Area in 2009 and was elected into the 9th session of the Nigerian Federal House of Representatives to represent Akure North/South constituency.

Expensive as he was fondly called by his admirers, said farewell to this world on Monday 16th August 2021.

On her part, Chief (Mrs.) Ruth Olowokere was a woman of substance and a pride to feminism.
She was born into the family of Pa Olaleye Ajakaiye on 10th October, 1946 in Ifon, Ose local government area of Ondo State.

Owing to her passion and resilience, she traversed the storms of life to become a force to reckon with in the society.

Through hardwork and dedication, her business flourished, she became a major distributor for several companies including Guinness Plc, Nigerian breweries, Sona breweries, Consolidated breweries and the Nigerian Bottling Company.

Madam Do Good as she was nicknamed was a National President, Iyaloja General of Nigeria, Aare Apase Oloja Ondo state and Iyaloja of Ifon main market.

She was also an honorary member of the National Institution of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN).

While on this divide, she held BSc in Business Administration and MSc in Public Administration respectively.

The theme for the lecture, Unintended Consequences of Oil Deregulation; The Impacts on Nigerians and Lessons for Financial Sector will be delivered by Barrister Banjo Aiyenakin under the distinguished chairmanship of Professor Dayo Faduyile, a former NMA National President.

The Commissioner for Information, Ondo State, Hon. Adewale Akinlosotu will be the Chief host and the executive governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa will be the Special guest of honour.
