Police Arrest Three Notorious Robbery Suspects, Recover Stolen Cars and Weapons in Anambra
The Anambra State Police Command has arrested three suspected members of a notorious robbery gang known for targeting residents, especially those with valuable vehicles.

According to a statement released on Monday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the arrests were made after an armed suspect in custody confessed to the crime. Ikenga revealed that officers from the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, carried out the successful operation in Agukwu-Nri, Anaocha Local Government Area, on Saturday, June 1.
Recovered during the operation were a white Mercedes Benz C300 4matic (registration number KWC 140), an ash-coloured Lexus 350 (registration number 669 CY), two high-end mobile phones, and an automatic pump action gun.
Ikenga identified the arrested suspects as Monday Onoja, Sanusi Muhammed, and Kenneth Nwokpu, all males aged between 27 and 32 years.
He added that investigations are ongoing to apprehend other gang members who remain at large.
“This development highlights the command’s proactive approach to disrupting criminal networks and ensuring the safety of Anambra residents,” Ikenga stated.
