Police Arrest 27-Year-Old Man Over Alleged Murder of Motorcyclist in Ogun
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old man over the alleged murder of a 36-year-old motorcyclist, Sunday Ogbu, in the Igbesa axis of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday, noting that the incident occurred at about 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
According to Babaseyi, the suspect had hired the commercial motorcyclist before attacking him in an attempt to steal the motorcycle, which resulted in a violent struggle.
“A witness at the scene raised an alarm, prompting the police to respond swiftly,” he said.
“The victim was rescued and taken to the hospital for urgent medical attention but was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
“The suspect was apprehended immediately, while the motorcycle and the knife used in the attack were recovered as exhibits.”
The police spokesperson added that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta for further investigation and prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni, condemned the act and assured that justice would be served.
He also urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
