PDP Chieftain, TPT bags Ose Fireball/Political Icon Award

Chief Adetokunbo Modupe, a distinguished chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a prominent figure in Nigeria’s public relations industry, will be honored with the Ose Fireball/Political Icon Award on Sunday, August 25th, 2024.
The Award ceremony will be part of Chronicle Magazine’s 11th Anniversary, Award, and Lecture event, held at the OSPDC Ijapo First Gate in Akure. The event, which is expected to draw notable figures from across the state, will begin at 3 pm and will be chaired by Barrister Olumuyiwa Adu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), popularly known as Cubana.
Meanwhile, HRM Rotimi Obamuwagun Uwade 1, the Olumoru of Imoru is expected to be the Royal Father of the day.
Adetokunbo Modupe, also known as “Toks,” is the founder and Chief Consultant of TPT International Limited, one of West Africa’s leading public relations agencies. Toks is celebrated for his creative ingenuity and relentless ambition, qualities that have positioned him as one of Nigeria’s most innovative PR professionals. Over the years, he has transformed conventional practices in the industry with his forward-thinking approach, maintaining a strong presence in the PR space by consulting for a diverse range of clients in sectors such as telecommunications, energy, banking, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, media, real estate, education, and government.
Toks’ achievements extend beyond his professional endeavors into the political arena. He was a vital member of the Olusegun Mimiko government’s political strategy team and later served as the Ondo State Coordinator/Director General for the Goodluck Jonathan/Sambo presidential campaign organization in 2014. His political influence in Ondo State has grown significantly over the years, and in 2022, he emerged as the PDP senatorial candidate after a keenly contested primary. Despite facing stiff opposition, including from the late governor Rotimi Akeredolu, Toks ran a campaign that was widely praised for its focus on issues and value proposition.
In addition to his political and professional accomplishments, Toks has played a pivotal role in shaping the public relations industry in Nigeria. He has served as the Secretary-General of the Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN) and is a member of several professional institutions, including the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON). Toks has received numerous accolades for his work, including being named the PR Personality of the Decade by Marketing Edge Magazine in 2015 and winning the Best PR Company of the Year Award from Daily Global Newspapers in 2021.
The Ose Fireball/Political Icon Award is a recognition of Toks’ significant contributions to both the PR industry and the political landscape in Ondo State. The planning committee of the Chronicle Magazine’s anniversary event has dedicated this edition to celebrating the achievements of Ose Local Government, with the aim of honoring individuals who have demonstrated exceptional hard work, creativity, leadership, and philanthropy. Toks’ Award is a testament to his outstanding leadership and dedication to the betterment of his community.
The theme of the event, “Civil Engagement and Good Governance to Unleash Local Potentials in Ose: Role of Stakeholders,” will be addressed by Hon. Ilepe Johnson, a former Caretaker Chairman of Ose Local Government. The Lecture is expected to provide valuable insights into how stakeholders can contribute to the development of Ose and unlock its potential through effective governance and civic engagement. This aligns with the broader goals of the event, which seeks to foster relationships and promote integration among prominent indigenes and stakeholders of Ose Local Government in Ondo State.
