Oyeyemi Ifeoluwa Bags Agribusiness Mentorship Award
The Distinguish Queen of Greens and Chief Executive Officer of Farm Help Agribusiness Consult Limited, Oyeyemi Ifeoluwa Christie, who hails from Oyo State, will be receiving Agribusiness Mentorship Award alongside other important agro-business gurus in an event organized by Chronicle Media, a leading media organization in Southwest Nigeria that is committed to driving sectoral development and celebrating remarkable contributions to the agricultural sector. The Lecture and Award program provide a vital platform to honor individuals and organizations that have made a significant impact on food security and the economy of Oyo State.
The award will be presented at the upcoming Excellence in Agri-Business Lecture and Award ceremony, which is themed “Roots of Progress: Recognizing Excellence in Agribusiness and Rural Development.” The event is scheduled for November 20, 2024, at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Ifeoluwa is a farmer with over fifteen years of experience, an Agro-Dealer as well as an Animal Scientist. She obtained her first degree from the prestigious Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho, where she bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Nutrition and Biotechnology with second-class honors.
Her quest for more insights into modern agricultural practice led her to pursue a Master’s degree at the same institution.
The Excellence in Agro-Business Lecture and Award event will feature a keynote address by Professor Olorunfemi Oladapo Ogundele, a prominent figure from the Agriculture and Food Policy Department at the Nigerian Institute of Social and Economic Research (NISER) in Ibadan. Professor Ogundele will discuss the event’s theme and share insights on the role of agribusiness in promoting rural development and driving economic growth in Nigeria.
Ifeoluwa is a different breed who has made a tremendous impact in the lives of younger generations by organizing training and seminars for youths at all levels, starting from her immediate community, undergraduates, and colleagues, thereby changing the narratives of agriculture. She also partners with the ‘Girls Let’s Talk’ foundation, where she is a facilitator. She has won various awards of excellence from different organizations, such as the Iroko Awards, Hungary, NAGB, University of Ibadan, and other International awards for her Catch Them Young program.
She is highly passionate about vegetables and fruit farming and other areas of agriculture, which has made her forge ahead in digitalizing agribusiness through the use of media outlets for sensitization, thereby bringing agriculture to everyone’s doorstep, telling every woman to grow their garden with passion and enhance their enthusiasms in farming.
The event will be chaired by Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye, the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development in Oyo State. The Special Guest of Honour will be His Excellency Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State. Governor Makinde has been a strong advocate for agricultural reforms and innovation, which are key components of his administration’s efforts to improve the livelihoods of farmers and rural communities.
She has trained more than 10,000 youths and 4,000 women in the business of agriculture, which has made her stand out as an agro-dealer.
Ifeoluwa is a bonafide member of the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science, West Agro Inputs Dealers Association, a network manager for Syngenta Foundation in the Southwest, the Grand Matron for the Undergraduate Agribusiness Training, an alumnus member of AWE, a US exchange program, a business champion for the HortiNig project, a Hub for the YAS IITA project.
As agricultural enthusiasts, policymakers, and stakeholders gather at the IITA, the event will serve as a platform to exchange ideas, celebrate successes, and look ahead to new opportunities for growth in Nigeria’s agribusiness sector.
