Ondo Assembly reviews OSRC performance

In a bid to ensure effective media operations and strengthen the dissemination of credible information, the Ondo State House of Assembly Committee on Information, led by its chairman, Honorable Olatunji Oshatti, paid an oversight visit to the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC) today.
The visit was aimed at assessing the station’s operations, challenges, and needs, as part of its statutory oversight functions.
Welcoming the team, the Director of Finance and Administration, OSRC, Mr Segun Fadayomi thanked the team of Lawmakers for the support in the time past and sought the continued support of the legislative arm of government in recruiting more personnel for the maximum service delivery.
Also the Chairman of the Media Outfit, Mr Kunle Adebayo who highlighted several challenges, including the need for improved funding, and increased support of the Legislature reiterated the commitment of the Media Empire to delivering top-notch services.
He also reeled of some of the Corporation’s achievements to include up to date payment gratuity to Pensioners under the Corporation Services.
Chairman of the Committee, Hon Olatunji Oshatti who assured that the committee would communicate its needs to the appropriate authorities, emphasizing that a well-equipped media outlet is vital for keeping the public informed and promoting transparency in governance.
“Today’s visit allows us to evaluate how OSRC is managing its resources and fulfilling its mandate to inform, educate, and entertain the people of Ondo State. As representatives of the people, it’s essential that we support and ensure accountability for all media-related services.”
Other Lawmakers, expressed concern that Lack of timely and adequate funding could hinder the Media Organisation’s ability to fulfill its role in information dissemination.
The Lawmakers were later convened round some of the facilities in the Corporation.
