Ondo Assembly Promises More Welfare Packages For Staff, Charges Them To Be More Diligent

The Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt-Hon. Olamide Oladiji, has promised a better and good welfare packages for the staff members of the assembly in the year 2025.
The Speaker made the promise during the first 2025 prayer meeting held at the Assembly premises on Wednesday 8th, January 2025 in Akure.
He said that his leadership as the speaker has brought positive transformation to the lives of the assembly staff members.
In his Bible lesson from Psalm 121, Hon. Oladiji, said that when he emerged as speaker, he met nothing on ground that was beneficial to the Assembly Staff.
“My leadership will make things better but I ask for your total cooperation because you’re our motivators.
“When I became a speaker, what I met was nothing to write home about. “In 2025, God will use me more; you will enjoy promotion. There is the need to motivate you. Put in your best because without you, we can do nothing.
“I see you as our own engine room. We will try as much as possible to give you the best,” he said.
The speaker attributed the achievements recorded in 2024 to the contributions of all.
While thanking Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his support to the legislative arm, he said that the legislature would continue to maintain good relationships with the executive.
The guest Pastor also the Presiding Cleric, Prophetess Abigail Ibitoye, in her exhortation said it was God’s mercy that preserved everyone in 2024 despite the myriad of challenges in the course of the year.
Prophetess Ibitoye said that everyone must put God first in the 2025 irrespective of the storms and challenges in order to be victorious.
She urged everyone present at the occasion to create time for God and make Him their shield, saying that only God cannot fail.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the House of the Assembly Service Commission, Rt-Hon.
Dare Emiola, assured everyone that the commission’s plans for the new is achievable stating that the commission’s proposal is to recruit more staff to the House of the Assembly and carry out rigorous training and retraining of workers.
“ Our expectations for 2025 as embedded in the budget are to ensure better life for all staff. We have proposed new office complex that has been approved by Mr Governor. And the job will soon commence.
“ Welfare of our staff is paramount and sacrosanct because when they are happy, it will make us better. Those that need to be converted will be converted; there would be regular training and retraining of workers” he said.
In his remarks, the Clerk of the assembly, Barr. Banjamin Jaiyeola, lauded the exemplary leadership of the speaker.
Barr. Jaiyeola assured the speaker of staff members’ cooperation in order to further strengthen the synergy between the lawmakers and the staff.
