Ondo Assembly holds special session for late lawmakers

The Ondo State House of Assembly has held a special plenary session in honour of two late former lawmakers who both served during the sixth Assembly.
They are late Adams Adekanye Fatai who represented Akoko North West 2 state constituency during the 6th Assembly between 2007 – 2011 and late Bolodeoku Igbekele, represented Ese Odo state constituency during the 6th Assembly between 2007-2011.
Both present and former lawmakers, family members, politicians among others converged at the chamber of the Assembly where a minute silence was observed in honour of the deceased.
The special plenary session was presided over by the Speaker, Chief Olamide Oladiji.
At the plenary, the House of Assembly members and other dignitaries made speeches and orations in honour and memory of the late Lawmakers whom they described as very dedicated and committed Parliamentarians.
A former lawmaker Abidakun Dayo said late Fatai and Bolodeoku were sincere leaders who committed their lives to serving people.
Former Speaker, Bakita Bello described the late lawmakers as wonderful debaters who always stood for the truth.
Current Lawmakers equally spoke glowingly about the former Lawmakers, describing them as community leaders per excellence and prayed for God to grant the departed souls eternal rest.
Extolling the virtues of the late former lawmakers,the Speaker described them as bold and dedicated members of the House who lived their entire lives for humanity.
Oladiji who sympathized with the families of the former legislatures, said their meaningful and robust contribution to legislative matters would not be forgotten in a haste as they would be greatly missed.
The Speaker appreciated people in attendance for creating time to pay their last respect to the former lawmakers and encouraged all to live an excemplerary life.
Bolodeoku passed on to glory on 23rd July, 2024 at the age of 55 while Fatai Adams died on14th February ,2024 at the age of 56.
