Ondo Assembly and ONDIPA Join Forces to Boost Economic Development.

The Ondo State House of Assembly has called on both local and international investors to explore business opportunities in the state, assuring that the government has created a conducive environment for investment and economic growth.
This call was made by the House Committee on Culture, tourism, ,investment, corporate Services and Special duties during a familiarisation visit to the Ondo State Development, Investment Promotion Agency (ONDIPA), in Akure.
The lawmakers noted that the visit aimed to strengthen collaboration with the agency to foster economic development and attract strategic investments into the State.
Chairman of the Committee,Hon. Princess Olawumi Fayemi-Obayelu who led other members on the visit, highlighted the state’s vast economic potential, including its strategic location, abundant natural and mineral resources, and ongoing development projects.
She urged investors to take advantage of the state’s relative peace and enabling environment to establish and expand businesses, thereby boosting the State economy.
Hon.Obayelu commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his developmental strides and unwavering commitment to transforming Ondo State into a hub of economic prosperity.
While applauding the efforts of ONDIPA’s management in attracting investors, she reaffirmed the legislature’s commitment to its oversight role, ensuring that the agency continues to meet the expectations of the government, the people, and investors.
Other committee members, including Honourables Stephen Abitogun, Olatunji Ifabiyi, and Messiah Allen, encouraged ONDIPA to keep the legislature involved in its activities. They also assured the agency of legislative support to help surmount challenges and record more achievements.
Earlier, the Administrative Secretary of ONDIPA, Mr Omomowo Emmanuel
appreciated the lawmakers for the visit and pledged that the agency would continue to fulfil its mandate of attracting and facilitating investments through strategic partnerships with private investors.
Also speaking, the Director of Business Development, Mr Femi Akarakiri, informed that the agency had facilitated several investment projects including the Port of Ondo, the Red Gold Project, and the signing of memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with major investors.
