The Oliyere of Iyere Kingdom in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Omotunde Adako, has marked 15 years on the throne, celebrating a reign defined by peace, stability and community transformation.

The anniversary ceremony drew traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders and indigenes, who joined in honouring the monarch’s leadership journey and contributions to the growth of Iyere Kingdom.

Speaking during the celebration, Oba Adako expressed gratitude to God and the people for their support throughout his reign. He described his 15-year leadership as a privilege, noting that his accomplishments were made possible through unity and collective effort.

As part of activities marking the anniversary, the monarch launched a new ultra-modern palace project to further strengthen the kingdom’s heritage and identity. He announced plans to begin fundraising towards the completion of the structure, which he said would serve as a cultural and administrative centre for generations to come.

“I feel great and happy — 15 years on the throne has been by God’s grace,” he said. “The new palace is a legacy project, and we look forward to working together to make it a reality.”
The initiative has continued to attract goodwill and support within and outside the community, with many describing it as a historic step that will enhance the kingdom’s status and preserve its traditions.

Representatives of government at the event commended the monarch’s commitment to development and praised the role of traditional institutions in maintaining peace and cohesion across the state.

Also present were several monarchs from neighbouring communities who congratulated Oba Adako and prayed for continued progress, wisdom and prosperity in Iyere Kingdom.

The anniversary celebration concluded with cultural displays, prayers, music and expressions of solidarity, as the monarch reaffirmed his dedication to unity and development in service to his people.
