Nigerian Man Admits to Killing Ex-Girlfriend in UK After Break-Up
A 40-year-old Nigerian man, Adedapo Adegbola, has pleaded guilty to the murder of his former girlfriend, Steph Irons, a 23-year-old university student, following the end of their relationship in the United Kingdom.

The incident occurred on October 21 at Irons’ residence in Mapperley, Nottingham. Concerned colleagues raised the alarm after receiving a series of distressing messages from her. Police officers who responded to the report found Irons in the living room with multiple fatal stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigations revealed that Adegbola fled shortly after the attack, leaving behind blood-stained items. He reportedly travelled through several towns before later turning himself in to authorities.
Adegbola appeared before Nottingham Crown Court, where he admitted to the charge of murder. He was remanded in custody and is expected to be sentenced on February 5.
The case has sparked renewed conversations around domestic violence and the dangers faced by individuals after relationship breakdowns.
