NDLEA Intercepts Drugs Concealed in Coffee Sachets at Apapa Port, Detains 22 Indians
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted illicit drugs concealed in coffee sachets at Apapa Port, Lagos, and detained 22 Indian nationals in connection with the smuggling attempt.

The interception followed intelligence-led operations targeting containerised consignments entering the port. NDLEA operatives, during a detailed inspection of a cargo shipment, discovered the illegal substances hidden inside coffee sachets, a method believed to be aimed at evading security checks.
The suspects were apprehended at the port and are currently in NDLEA custody while investigations continue to determine the source of the drugs, their intended destination, and other members of the trafficking network.
The agency said forensic analysis of the seized substances is ongoing, adding that collaboration with port authorities and other security agencies aided the successful operation.
NDLEA reiterated its commitment to combating drug trafficking and warned that offenders will be prosecuted in accordance with Nigerian law.
The agency also urged port users and the general public to provide useful information to help dismantle drug trafficking syndicates.
