Thousands Yet to Collect Their Licences – FRSC Warns

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ondo State Command, has revealed that 6,038 driver’s licences remain unclaimed by applicants in the state.

According to the State Sector Commander, Dr. Samuel Ibitoye, a total of 10,038 licences were received, including a carryover of 7,213 from 2024 and an additional 3,097 issued in 2025. However, only 4,272 have been collected so far.

Ibitoye urged applicants to visit the Board of Internal Revenue office in Alagbaka, Ondo State, to claim their licences. He warned that driving without a valid licence is a serious offence, carrying legal consequences.

“Many complain that their licences are unavailable, yet thousands remain uncollected,” he stated.

He further emphasized that a valid driver’s licence is the only legal document permitting individuals to drive in Nigeria, warning that unlicensed drivers could face sanctions.

He advised all motorists yet to obtain their licences to do so immediately, adding:
“Driving without a licence not only makes you an impostor on the road, but you may also face serious legal consequences.”
