Debt Dispute Turns Deadly: Man Arrested for Alleged Murder of Reverend Sister in Rivers

Kelvin Okoro has been arrested by the Rivers State Police for allegedly murdering Reverend Sister Maureen Wecheonwu in the Aluu community, Ikwerre Local Government Area.

The tragic incident reportedly occurred on Thursday morning. According to sources, Kelvin, who owed the nun an undisclosed amount of money, allegedly lured her to a secluded area under the pretense of resolving the debt. There, he is said to have attacked her with a blunt object, stole her belongings, and left her dead.

Residents revealed that Sister Maureen had been vocal about the debt in the community prior to the incident. “She kept saying he refused to pay back the money. He called her out to talk, but led her to a lonely path and struck her,” a source recounted.

Following the discovery of her body by locals, suspicion immediately fell on Kelvin, who had gone into hiding. The local vigilante group, OSPAC, led by Commander Kingsley Wali, tracked him down and handed him over to the police for further investigation.
