D Chronicle Media to Honour Engr. Sunday Olusogo Okedele with Outstanding Energy Icon Award
When the lights come on at the St. Luke Event Center, Akure, on Saturday, 23rd August 2025, one of the names that will resonate with pride is that of Engr. Sunday Olusogo Okedele. The distinguished engineer and pastor will be celebrated with the Outstanding Energy Icon Award during the D Chronicle Media 50/12 Celebration—an event marking the 50th birthday of the CEO of D Chronicle Media and the 12th anniversary of the organisation.
With the theme “Accountability and Transparency: Keys to Fulfilling Election Promises in Public Service,” the evening is set to draw an impressive audience of leaders, royals, and professionals. Among the dignitaries expected are the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and traditional rulers including the Olowo of Owo Kingdom, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye III.
Born on November 2, 1969, in Ororuwo, Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State, Engr. Okedele’s story is one of consistency, discipline, and service. From his days at NEPA in 1992 as an Electric System Operator in Training, he steadily rose through the ranks to become Principal Manager (Transmission) with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), where he now serves as Work Centre Manager, Akure.
A COREN-registered engineer, he is also affiliated with leading professional organisations such as KOICA, NATE, IEEE, and NIPE, and is widely regarded as a seasoned protection engineer whose work has strengthened Nigeria’s power sector.
Yet, beyond the circuits and grids, Engr. Okedele carries another mantle—that of a Senior Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), where he serves as Pastor-in-Charge of Zone under Region 43, Osun Province 1. His leadership in ministry complements his professional excellence, reflecting a rare blend of technical brilliance and spiritual devotion.
The organisers describe him as “a shining example of resilience and impact, whose contributions in the power sector and in ministry continue to inspire.”
As the D Chronicle Media 50/12 Celebration unfolds, Engr. Sunday Olusogo Okedele will not just be receiving an award; he will be standing as a testament to what dedication, service, and integrity can achieve.
