The Chief Imam of Owo and Chairman of the Ondo State League of Imams and Alfas, Sheikh Ahmad Aladoke Aladesawe, has passed away at the age of 91.

Sheikh Aladesawe breathed his last on Monday night, September 15, 2025, closing a chapter of over nine decades dedicated to spiritual leadership, Islamic propagation, education, and the pursuit of social justice.

In a condolence statement issued on Tuesday, the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN), led by its President Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo and Executive Secretary Professor Muslih Yahya, described his passing as a monumental loss to the Muslim community.

MUSWEN praised the late Imam as a pillar of wisdom and guidance, whose contributions to Islamic education, da’wah, and community development left indelible marks in Owo, across Ondo State, and throughout the South West region.
