Commandant Oluyemi Joshua Ibiloye, the respected Ondo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), will be celebrated at this year’s 50/12 Celebration with the Public Safety and Security Icon Award. The recognition, bestowed by D Chronicle Media, applauds his remarkable record in safeguarding communities, advancing peace initiatives, and redefining security leadership in Nigeria.

The landmark 50/12 Celebration — a double event marking the 50th birthday of D Chronicle Media’s CEO and the organisation’s 12th anniversary — is themed “Accountability and Transparency: Keys to Fulfilling Election Promises in Public Service”. It is scheduled for Saturday, 23rd August 2025, at St. Luke Event Center, Akure.

Commandant Ibiloye’s service excellence has attracted several accolades, including the Outstanding Civil Defender of the Year (2023), Sunshine State Achievers’ Hall of Fame (2024), Most Outstanding & Innovative Commandant of the Year, and the Eminent Peace Ambassador Award (IAWPA–UN Affiliated). His professional affiliations span the International Foundation for Protection Officers, ASIS International, the Society for Peace Studies & Practice, and the World Institute for Peace (Fellow).

The 50/12 stage will also welcome an esteemed lineup of dignitaries: Royal Fathers of the Day, HRM Rotimi Obamuwagun Uwade I, Olumoru of Imoru, and HRM Engr. (Dr.) Ademola Oyinbade Olanipekun III, Oloba of Uso; Guest Speaker, Comrade Babatunde Ali, former governorship aspirant of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP); Chairman of the Occasion, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, representing Ondo Central District; and Special Guest, Hon. (Chief) Ifedayo Abegunde Abena, Director of Corporate Services at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Dr. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, will grace the occasion as Special Guest of Honour.

For Commandant Ibiloye, this honour is not just a personal milestone but a renewed call to service — to continue building safer communities, nurturing peace, and setting higher benchmarks for security leadership across Nigeria.
