Students of Calvary International College, Akure, have made history by achieving exceptional results in the 2024 West African Examination Council (WAEC), with each student clearing his subjects with distinctions. The remarkable performance has been hailed as a testament to the high academic standards and commitment to excellence upheld by the school.
In interviews with Chronicle media, the students expressed their immense joy and attributed their success to the school’s supportive environment.
Ademola Precious, who earned distinctions in all nine of her subjects, spoke passionately about the role of the school in her outstanding performance. “My WAEC performance didn’t come as a surprise because Calvary International College has modeled us for excellence. I studied hard, and I thank God for crowning my efforts with success,” Precious said. She emphasized the dedication of her teachers and the conducive learning environment as key factors that contributed to her achievements.
Another student, Ijimakinwa Oluwatamilore, who also achieved eight distinctions, credited his success in both the WAEC and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations to the strong academic foundation provided by the school. “Calvary International built us up. Even when it was announced that many students failed in JAMB, we all made good scores in JAMB and achieved amazing grades in WAEC. This is a great feat for us, and we appreciate our teachers,” Oluwatamilore said.
Oboh Joy, who also scored eight distinctions, expressed her gratitude to God, her parents, and the school. She promised to be a good Ambassador of Calvary International College wherever she finds herself in future. Joy’s heartfelt appreciation reflects the deep sense of pride and responsibility that comes with being part of such a successful institution.
Also speaking, Pastor J. A. Orimoloye, the Director of Schools and Administration (DOSA), expressed his delight at the students’ achievements, stating that the school’s mission to nurture academic excellence and moral integrity had once again been realized. “Our students’ success is a result of hard work, dedication, and commitment to the highest standards of education. We are incredibly proud of them and their accomplishments,” He said.
Meanwhile, parents and guardians of the students have also expressed their joy and satisfaction with the school’s performance. Many attributed the success to the school’s well-rounded approach to education, which combines rigorous academic training with moral and spiritual development. The excellent results have further solidified Calvary International College’s reputation as a leading institution in Ondo State and beyond.
As the students of Calvary International College prepare for the next phase of their academic journey, they carry with them the lessons and values instilled by their school. Their exceptional performance in the 2024 WAEC serves as an inspiration to other students and a reminder of what can be achieved through hard work, dedication, and the right support system.
