2027: Adeleke’s Campaign Council Promises 1.5 Million Votes for Tinubu in Osun

The Imole Campaign Council has pledged to mobilise 1.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, expressing confidence in the ability of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to deliver victory for the President in the state.

The council made the pledge in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Director-General, Senator Olalere Oyewumi, following Adeleke’s appointment as the Osun State Coordinator of the PBAT Presidential Campaign Council.

The appointment was contained in the revised list of members of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election, which also includes the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori; and Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, among other political figures.

Oyewumi welcomed Adeleke’s appointment, describing it as a recognition of the governor’s political influence and capacity to mobilise support for Tinubu ahead of the election.

He assured the President that the confidence reposed in Adeleke would translate into electoral support across Osun State.

“The Imole Campaign Council welcomes the appointment of Governor Adeleke as State Coordinator of the PBAT Presidential Campaign Council in Osun.

“The appointment is a well-deserved one. We assure the President that his confidence in the ability of Governor Adeleke to deliver Osun in the Presidential election will not be misplaced,” Oyewumi said.

He added that the council was committed to fulfilling its promise of delivering 1.5 million votes for Tinubu, recalling that Adeleke had previously expressed support for the target.

“We promise the President, just like Governor Adeleke said sometimes ago, that we will deliver 1.5 million votes to ensure his victory in the coming Presidential election,” he stated.

The council also called on residents of Osun State to support Adeleke, urging them to trust his leadership and allow him to continue implementing his campaign promises.

It maintained that supporting Tinubu in the presidential election would also amount to supporting Adeleke’s political direction.

The development comes as political parties and their allies intensify consultations and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Adeleke, who contested the Osun governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party, was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission’s State Returning Officer, Professor Joshua Ogunwole.

He secured 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.

The governor’s inclusion in the presidential campaign council has drawn attention to the political cooperation between figures from different parties ahead of the next presidential election.

However, the Imole Campaign Council’s pledge of 1.5 million votes remains a political target that will depend on its mobilisation efforts and the choices of voters when the election is held.
