Itesiwaju Movement Akinyele Local Government Pays Tribute to Hon. Wasiu Olafisoye Akinmoyede
-Movement declares full support for Federal Constituency Candidate ahead of 2027
AKINYELE, OYO STATE — The APC Itesiwaju Movement in Akinyele Local Government has paid glowing tribute to Hon. Wasiu Olafisoye Akinmoyede, describing him as a leader of courage, reconciliation, unity and progressive politics.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, 12th August 2026 following the party’s local government meeting, the group applauded Hon. Akinmoyede, who is also the APC candidate for Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, for his decisive intervention in resolving two lingering crises that had affected party unity since the ward and local government congresses in February.
According to the movement, the intervention was not merely an attempt to settle differences; it was a bold demonstration that the interest of the party must always rise above personal interests, grievances and differences.
“By bringing the contending sides together and creating an atmosphere for reconciliation, Hon. Olafisoye has once again shown that genuine leadership is about building bridges, healing wounds and providing direction when it matters most,” the statement read.
The group particularly commended his remarkable address to party members and supporters, during which he recognized and extolled the virtues and contributions of former representatives in the National Assembly. He also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the various leaders of the party in Akinyele Local Government.
Of particular significance was his special recognition of Alhaji Mukaila Abiola Ambali, whose resilience, dedication and statesmanship he openly acknowledged and commended.
Hon. Olafisoye rightly noted that Alhaji Ambali has remained committed to progressive politics since the restoration of democratic governance in 1999 and has remained steadfast in the APC family without defecting to another political party, even in periods when he faced what he considered injustice, unfair treatment and marginalisation.
“This recognition is a powerful reminder that loyalty, perseverance and commitment to a political family should never be taken for granted. We commend Hon. Olafisoye for recognizing and celebrating such qualities publicly,” the Itesiwaju Movement stated.
The movement also lauded Hon. Akinmoyede’s passionate appeal to all party leaders to close ranks, reconcile their differences and work together as one united family for the success of APC in the forthcoming general election, stressing that unity is the party’s greatest strength.
Declaring its unalloyed support for his second term bid to return to the House of Representatives, the group pledged to mobilize members and stakeholders across Akinyele to deliver a landslide victory for APC.
“The time for division is over.
The time for reconciliation is now.
The time for unity is now.
The time to mobilize for victory is now,” the group declared.
The APC Itesiwaju Movement concluded by praying for continued growth of the party in Akinyele and success for all APC candidates in the next election.

“Together in Unity, Mobilising for Victory.”
