MC Oluomo credits life experience over degrees, urges fathers to support families
President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has said practical experience and life lessons have equipped him with knowledge he believes surpasses that of many university graduates, despite never receiving formal education.

He made the remarks during the 50th birthday celebration and album launch of Islamic singer Hafsat Adegoke in Alausa, Lagos, where several notable personalities, including Fuji musician Saheed Osupa, were in attendance.
Recalling his early years, MC Oluomo said he began working as a bus conductor at a young age, earning enough to support his mother while also paying for his personal needs.
He explained that his emergence as NURTW president was not by chance but through years of dedication, commitment and learning the transport business from the grassroots.
According to him, although he never attended school, the knowledge he has gained through experience has shaped his understanding of life and leadership.
The transport union leader also highlighted his commitment to education, noting that his children pursued higher education and are now professionals abroad. He revealed that they include a doctor, a lawyer and an engineer, all based in the United States.
Speaking further, MC Oluomo urged fathers to take responsibility for the welfare of their families, describing neglect of one’s wife and children as unacceptable. He lamented that many women have become the main providers in their homes because some men have abandoned their responsibilities.
He also cautioned men against prioritising children outside their marriages over their immediate families, warning that such actions often lead to regret in the future.
