Glow FM Boss Seeks Media Partnership for Greater Impact as He Warns Against Corruption
Chief Executive Officer of Glow FM, Ijapo, Akure, Ondo State, Dr. Ezekiel Akande, has called for stronger collaboration with journalists to promote his development-driven initiatives across various media platforms.
Dr. Akande made the appeal during an interaction with members of the Association of Independent Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria in Akure yesterday. The Oke-Agbe, Akoko indigene said increased media collaboration will help amplify his projects and ensure they reach more people across Ondo State and beyond.
Speaking on ethics and leadership, the Glow FM CEO condemned corruption and sharp practices in both public and private sectors. Drawing from his years of business experience, he said dishonest conduct erodes credibility, destroys trust, and causes individuals to lose the confidence of those who recommend them for opportunities.
He emphasized that transparency, dedication, and exemplary leadership are essential virtues for every leader, especially those in the media space who shape public opinion. According to him, staff working in reputable organizations with good remuneration have no justification for engaging in fraudulent acts, noting that such practices weaken organizational revenue and growth. He explained that business owners rely on consistent profits to meet daily and monthly operational costs.
Dr. Akande, a renowned medical practitioner, practiced abroad for many years before returning to Nigeria to invest in the media and other sectors. He has also extended medical support to different groups and currently serves as patron of the Agbekoya security organization and several other community associations.
On health and social relations, he advised media practitioners and the public not to neglect their well-being. He warned that high blood pressure affects everyone, including medical professionals, and urged people to build healthy relationships and work in harmony with others, because no one can predict who will be of help in times of need.
The Glow FM boss further said his projects require more publicity and public awareness to achieve greater reach. While acknowledging government support in some areas, he noted that collaboration remains key to success despite having the capacity to execute many of his initiatives independently. He therefore appealed to media professionals for partnership in advancing his programs and community development efforts.
