RE: Condemnation of Malicious Plot to Frame Up Hon. Arowele and Prevent His Participation in the Primary Election
The Arowele Campaign Organization wishes to alert the public, security agencies, and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress to a dangerous and undemocratic plot targeting our principal, Hon. Samuel Ayo Arowele, and his supporters.
We have credible intelligence that certain political actors, unsettled by Hon. Arowele’s growing acceptance across Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, are orchestrating a plan to frame him on false charges. The aim is to facilitate his arrest and that of key campaign team members, with the clear intention to intimidate, harass, and remove him from the political space ahead of the forthcoming APC primary election.
We have also uncovered plans by these actors to file a suit in court designed to prevent Hon. Arowele from participating in the primary. This is a desperate attempt to subvert the will of the people and deny delegates the right to choose freely.
We state categorically:
- Hon. Arowele is a law-abiding citizen with no record of criminality. Any attempt to link him to fabricated offenses will be exposed and challenged through lawful means.
- This plot is anti-democratic and a direct assault on the electoral process. Using security agencies and the courts to settle political scores undermines the integrity of our democracy.
- We will not be intimidated. No amount of blackmail, false allegations, or legal maneuvering will stop the Arowele movement or the people’s desire for credible representation.
We call on the Inspector General of Police, the Director of DSS, and all relevant security agencies to remain neutral and professional, and to resist being used for political vendetta. We also urge the judiciary to be vigilant against suits filed in bad faith to obstruct legitimate candidates.
To our supporters and well-wishers, remain calm, law-abiding, and vigilant. Do not be provoked. We are documenting all developments and will pursue every legal and constitutional avenue to protect the rights of Hon. Arowele and the people he seeks to serve.
The people of Owo/Ose Federal Constituency deserve a free and fair primary, not intimidation and judicial manipulation. We trust that truth and due process will prevail.
