FAIRNESS, EQUITY, JUSTICE: IT IS OWO’S TURN IN 2027
Owo/Ose Stakeholders Uphold the 1999 Handshake, Reject 12-Year Monopoly
Owo, Ondo State Today, sons and daughters of Owo/Ose Federal Constituency rise to defend a covenant older than parties and stronger than politics: the 1999 handshake of Fairness, Equity, and Justice.

For 28 years, one House of Representatives seat has united two local governments. Not by statute, but by conscience. Not by decree, but by brotherhood. That unwritten pact was simple: “Eight years for Owo. Eight years for Ose. No one cheats the clock.”
THE RECORD: A LEGACY OF ROTATION
Since 1999, our people have honored this rotation:
Period Representative LGA Years Served
1999–2003 Hon. Michael O. Omotosho from Ose – 4
2003–2011 Hon. Alaba Oladoyinbo-Ojomo from Owo – 8
2011–2015 Hon. Eniolorunda Omosule from Ose – 4
2015–2019 Hon. Dr. Bode Ayorinde from Owo – 4
2019–2027 Hon. Dr. Timehin Adelegbe from Ose – 8
By May 2027, _Hon. Dr. Timehin Adelegbe of Ose will complete 8 consecutive years — the same limit Owo respected in 2011.
EQUITY: OWO LED BY EXAMPLE IN 2011
In 2011, Hon. Alaba Oladoyinbo-Ojomo of Owo concluded 8 straight years. He did not seek a third term. He did not invoke “unfinished projects.” He did not plead “continuity.”
He stepped aside. He handed the baton to Ose. That was equity in action.
Today, equity asks Ose to do what Owo did. Eight years is enough. To seek 12 years is to declare that Owo’s sacrifice in 2011 was naïve. It was not. It was noble.
JUSTICE: IREKARI MUST NOT WAIT 36 YEARS
Justice is incomplete if we ignore the silence within Ose itself. Since 1999, every Ose representative — Omotosho, Omosule, Adelegbe — has come from the Ekamarun axis.
Irekari axis: 0 years in 28 years.
If “continuity” gives Ekamarun 12 years through 2031, Irekari will not taste representation until 2035. That is 36 years of exclusion. No community should wait a generation to be seen.
The path to justice for Irekari runs through Owo. Let Owo take 2027–2035. By 2035, the moral case becomes unassailable: Irekari’s turn for Ose.
THE HANDSHAKE SURVIVED PARTIES. IT MUST SURVIVE PERFORMANCE
This rotation outlived AD. It outlived PDP. It outlived Labour Party. It outlived APC. It even survived when Dr. Bode Ayorinde crossed from APC to PDP mid-term.
If party defections could not break it, “performance” must not break it. “Continuity” must not bury it.
The handshake says 8 years. Adelegbe will have 8 years by May 2027. The handshake says rotate. Owo is next.
OUR RESOLVE: A 4-POINT APPEAL
- To Hon. Dr. Timehin Adelegbe: You are already historic — the first from Ose to serve 8 straight years. Become legendary: be the first to honor rotation willingly. Exit in 2027 with honor, like Oladoyinbo-Ojomo. Let history remember you for equity, not elongation.
- To Owo Leaders & Stakeholders: The baton is returning. Be ready. Nuel Ola Elehinle, Ghani Rotimi Arobo, and other capable sons have stepped forward. Unite behind one credible, competent candidate. Deny Ose the excuse of “no alternative.”
- To Irekari Elders & Youth: Your emancipation begins in 2027. Support Owo’s turn now, and this constituency will owe you a moral debt in 2035. Stand for rotation today, so rotation can stand for you tomorrow.
- To All Owo/Ose Citizens: This is not Adelegbe versus Owo. This is Brotherhood versus Monopoly. Precedent versus Privilege. Justice versus Justification.
THE VERDICT OF HISTORY
1999: Ose began with Omotosho.
2011: Owo ended at 8 with Ojomo and returned it.
2027: Ose must end at 8 with Adelegbe and return it.
That is fairness. That is equity. That is justice.
The handshake of 1999 is in the dock. 2027 is judgment day.
Let the baton return to Owo.
