Newspaper Publishers Pay Advocacy Visit To Interior Minister, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo in Abuja
The Leadership of the Association of Independent Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria (AINPN) has paid an advocacy visit to the Minister of Interior, Dr Bunmi Tunji-Ojo in Abuja, a visit led by the President of the Association.

The Minister warm reception accorded the President and the Secretary speak volume of his accommodating and friendly posture towards the media in the country.
Speaking on the purpose of the visit, the President of AINPN, Olaseeni Oyesusi said, the Association can’t but celebrate the remarkable achievements of the Minister whose Ministry stands out among others in this present administration.
He stated that, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo has reshaped and changed the old narrative of people’s perception of the ministry being a ministry of public holidays declaration, saying the new innovation of the Minister has broaden the thinking of many Nigerians that, if well tapped, no Ministry is a dry land.
The President congratulated the Minister for making Ondo State proud in terms of policies formulation, implementation and execution under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, of which, passport reformed is one of them.
Olaseeni thanked President Tinubu for the appointment that has boosted the image of his government, noting that, the Minister has proven his mettle as one of the best in the current administration.
He added that, aside celebrating the Minister giant strides, the visit was also an advocacy call from the Association who are determined to associate with progressive minded and highly cerebral leader in the country.
The President who also doubles as the CEO of D Chronicle Media Ventures said, the need to join forces to propagate his good work, promote President Tinubu renewed hope programme beyond 2027, informed the unanimous decision of the Association to align with him.
The President requested for constant support to the Publishers, donation of vehicle for easy mobility, Laptops for members among other needs of the Publishers.
In his words, “Honourable Minister Sir, if our demands are met, it would be remembered that you come to our aids when we were neglected. It is not out of tune if you give AINPN vehicle, support us with monthly stipend, buy laptops among other requests table before you sir”.
In his response, the Minister thanked the leadership of the Association for taking time for the scheduled visit, saying he can’t disappoint the President who appointed him to oversee the ministry.
He added that, more innovation and policies in the immigration, Correctional Centre, Fire Service, NSCDC and other agencies under his ministry, saying President Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda is people centered and designed to improve the well-being of Nigerians.
He promised to look into the requests tabled before him and get back as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the Minister appreciated the Association on the conferment of AINPN South West Leadership Award coming up next month and promised to be in attendance. He also assures his readiness to improve upon the services that are earning him accolades and honours.
While talking, the Secretary of AINPN, Mr. Collins Alimi thanked the Minister for always making himself accessible and promised never to let him down in the area of meaningful information dissemination.
