Mass Arrests in Ondo: How Amotekun Nabbed 164 Suspects in One Week
Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun Corps, have arrested 164 suspects in a week-long security operation carried out across the state.

The Corps Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed this while addressing the public, explaining that the arrests were part of intensified efforts to curb criminal activities and strengthen security.
According to him, the suspects were linked to a range of offences, including kidnapping, human trafficking, armed robbery, rape, and other violations of public order. He noted that the arrests were made in different locations following coordinated operations by the security outfit.
A breakdown of the cases revealed involvement in multiple incidents, including suspected kidnapping cases, several instances of human trafficking, and other crimes such as theft, assault, and unlawful activities disrupting public peace.
In addition to the arrests, the corps also intercepted 144 individuals who were being transported under suspicious conditions. The individuals were reportedly found in a trailer without clear identification or explanation for their movement.
Adeleye explained that such individuals are usually subjected to proper profiling, after which necessary actions are taken in line with security protocols.
The operation also led to the recovery of several items believed to be stolen, including motorcycles, generators, and other valuable materials.
He added that the success of the exercise was made possible through collaboration with other security agencies, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts in tackling crime.
The Amotekun commander assured residents of the corps’ continued commitment to protecting lives and property, while urging the public to remain vigilant and support security agencies with useful information.
