Ondo Amotekun Parades 38 Suspects for Murder, Kidnapping, Vandalism, and Illegal Migration

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps, has paraded 38 suspects allegedly involved in various criminal activities across the state, including murder, kidnapping, vandalism, and illegal migration.

The Commander of the Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed this on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, during a media briefing at the agency’s headquarters in Akure. He said the arrests were made through sustained intelligence and coordinated operations involving zonal commandants, coordinators, and divisional officers across the state.

According to Adeleye, out of the 38 suspects, two were arrested for kidnapping, two for rape-related offenses, while several others were apprehended for murder, vandalism of government equipment, and aiding illegal entry into the state.

“In recent weeks, all Amotekun commandants, coordinators, and divisional officers have been mandated to ensure that the peace and safety of lives and properties remain our top priority. Ondo State remains one of the safest states in Nigeria, largely due to the synergy among security agencies,” Adeleye stated.

He explained that the Corps recently dismantled a syndicate responsible for vandalizing state-owned heavy-duty machines such as caterpillars and trucks. The suspects, caught during a night operation, reportedly opened fire on Amotekun operatives but were subdued and arrested without casualties.

Adeleye also revealed the arrest of a 35-year-old suspect, Aderemi, linked to murder and kidnapping cases; a 45-year-old man, Ethuch, allegedly serving as a spy for kidnappers; and Victor, who was apprehended in Ofosu for murder.

Other suspects, Muhasu Sanni, Moshood, James, and Sehidu were arrested for vandalizing government properties and attempting to sell stolen equipment.

In another operation, the Corps apprehended a group of individuals involved in facilitating the illegal entry of immigrants from Benin Republic and Togo into Nigeria. Among them were Mustapha, Steve, Afosu Tangojuntu, and Simon, as well as 22 illegal immigrants who failed to provide valid reasons for their presence in the country.

Adeleye confirmed that the illegal migrants will be handed over to the Nigeria Immigration Service for further investigation and possible repatriation.

He also mentioned the arrest of a man found wearing military camouflage, who will be handed over to military authorities for questioning.

Commenting on a recent incident in the Powerline Agodada area, where two men were gruesomely murdered, Adeleye said the Corps has arrested a suspected informant whose primary role was to alert kidnappers whenever Amotekun officers were approaching.

Reaffirming the Corps’ zero tolerance for criminality, Adeleye said:

“Ondo State remains safe but unsafe for criminals. It is not a place for crime to thrive. Head or tail, Amotekun will catch you. The best advice is to stay away from crime.”

The Commander commended residents for their cooperation and assured that the Corps will continue to uphold professionalism, intelligence-led operations, and collaboration with other security agencies to maintain peace and security across the state.
