COMMUNITY CRIME PREVENTION: NSCDC, YOUTH BODY COLLABORATES IN ONDO

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, and the Ondo State Youth Network (OSYN) have agreed to collaborate in community crime prevention and initiatives promoting mutual understanding and trust.
The pragmatic collaboration was made at a courtesy visit paid to the State Commandant, CC Oluyemi Ibiloye, cpo mspsp fwip at his office by the 5th Executive Council and members of the Ondo State Youth Network, led by the Coordinator, Mr. Dabo Daniel Dare.
The Network is a coalition of young professionals, former student leaders, and politically conscious youths dedicated to fostering improved leadership, open governance, and innovative initiatives.
While receiving the youth body, the Commandant congratulated the new exco and appreciated their passion. He noted that youths are on both sides of the divide – positive and negative contributions.
‘I am impressed that quite a number of youths are doing exceptionally well. Youth agitations are more genuine than before. Sadly, the youths are also involved in criminal activities ranging from cultism, vandalism, kidnapping, and cyber crimes.”
‘ We are doing our best as a security agency. There is no crime-free society anywhere in the world. Timely security information is what we need to act. We will partner with the youths to address challenges and create a safer environment for all residents of Ondo State,’ Commandant Ibiloye said.
Earlier, Mr. Debo expressed the youth network’s profound respect and appreciation for the invaluable services rendered by the NSCDC, particularly in protecting citizens and the nation’s critical infrastructure from vandalism and theft.
With this collaboration, it is believed that with open dialogue and cooperation, challenges would be addressed, and a safer environment for all residents would be created.
