Woman Nabbed for Drug Trafficking in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a woman for alleged drug trafficking in Ode Aye, Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.

Police spokesperson, SP Olushola Ayanlade, confirmed that the suspect, Mrs. Ibikun Segun, was arrested on September 22, 2025, after a tip-off led operatives to her residence at No. 16 Ikoloma Street.

During the raid, substances suspected to be crystal methamphetamine and cannabis sativa were recovered, along with ₦25,000 believed to be proceeds from drug sales.

Ayanlade noted that the suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue to trace her suppliers and collaborators. She is expected to be charged to court soon.

The Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Adebowale Lawal, condemned the activities of drug traffickers, describing illicit drugs as a driving force behind violent crimes such as robbery, kidnapping, cultism, and homicide.

He assured that the Command will intensify efforts to rid the state of drug trafficking and urged residents to provide timely intelligence to aid security operations.
