International Day of Peace is globally observed on 21st September and was marked in the command with a Peace Awareness Rally across the city of Akure.

The rally aimed to remind the citizens of the sunshine state that peace is not a luxury but the foundation upon which every society can thrive.

A commemorative lecture with the theme, ‘Act now for a peaceful world,’ was delivered by Mrs Stella-Ikeokwu Nathaniel, the state coordinator, Partner for Peace (P4P) in the Niger Delta.

She emphasized that peace is everybody’s business and begins with the small, everyday actions of each individual. She urged participants to make a personal commitment to act now for peace.

‘Our collective actions, no matter how small, can create a ripple effect that leads to a more peaceful, just, and prosperous world for all.’
