Engr. Obele Bamidele to be Honoured with Leadership Excellence Award at D Chronicle Media 50/12 Celebration
Distinguished engineer and community leader, Engr. Obele Bamidele, will be among the honourees at this year’s D Chronicle Media 50/12 Celebration, where he will receive the prestigious Leadership Excellence Award. The honour recognises his outstanding professional achievements, humanitarian service, and unwavering dedication to leadership rooted in integrity and impact.
Professionally, he has carved out an illustrious career in Project Management, Strategic Planning, and Procurement. From his early days at TESCOM in 1999 to his current role as Deputy Director, Engr. Obele has exemplified discipline, excellence, and service. A COREN-registered engineer, he holds active membership in the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). His impact has been felt not only in his profession but also in the wider society, earning him multiple awards, including the Golden Leadership Award by Ondo Study Group, the Most Outstanding Distinguished Oodua Akoni-Kurin in Humanitarian Services (2020) by Yoruba Redemption Foundation, and the Living Hero in Humanitarian Services (2020) by Life Value Awareness and Leadership Initiative in collaboration with Oduduwa Watch News Online.
The 50/12 Celebration, which commemorates the 50th birthday of the CEO of D Chronicle Media and the 12th anniversary of the organisation, is themed “Accountability and Transparency: Keys to Fulfilling Election Promises in Public Service.” The event is scheduled for Saturday, 23rd August 2025, at St. Luke Event Center, Akure.
The ceremony will host an array of distinguished personalities. The Royal Fathers of the Day include HRM Rotimi Obamuwagun Uwade I, Olumoru of Imoru, and HRM Engr. (Dr.) Ademola Oyinbade Olanipekun III, Oloba of Uso. The Guest Speaker will be Comrade Babatunde Ali, former governorship aspirant of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP). The Chairman of the Occasion is Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, representing Ondo Central District, while the Special Guest is Hon. (Chief) Ifedayo Abegunde Abena, Director of Corporate Services at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Dr. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, will grace the event as Special Guest of Honour.
