The Speaking Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji bags Legion of Excellence in Public Service Award
The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable (Chief) Olamide Oladiji, will take centre stage at this year’s 50/12 Celebration as he is honoured with the Legion of Excellence in Public Service Award by D Chronicle Media. The honour recognises his sterling record of legislative leadership, grassroots development, and unwavering commitment to the people of Ondo State.
The dual celebration commemorating the 50th birthday of the CEO of D Chronicle Media and the organisation’s 12th anniversary is Themed “Accountability and Transparency: Keys to Fulfilling Election Promises in Public Service,” will be held on Saturday, 23rd August 2025, at St. Luke Event Center, Akure.
Popularly known as “Landmark,” Oladiji’s leadership journey is a blend of political service, entrepreneurial achievement, and educational advocacy. Since joining politics in 2015 under the All Progressives Congress (APC), he has broken new ground — first as the inaugural Deputy Majority Leader from Ondo East in 2019, and now as Speaker of the 10th Assembly, as well as Vice Chairman of the Conference of Speakers (South West).
Away from the legislative chamber, he has built successful enterprises — Ladiji Petroleum, Lammytex Hotels & Suites, and Ladiji Integrated Services Ltd. — and established learning institutions such as Landmark Polytechnic, Landmark Vocational and Innovative Institute, and Landmark Group of Schools. His tenure as Speaker has delivered transformative impact: road construction and grading across Ondo East, provision of potable water through the Landmark Water Project, youth skill acquisition and scholarships, medical outreaches, school upgrades, sports sponsorships, and strengthened community security.
The 50/12 stage will also host a distinguished lineup: Royal Fathers of the Day, HRM Rotimi Obamuwagun Uwade I, Olumoru of Imoru, and HRM Engr. (Dr.) Ademola Oyinbade Olanipekun III, Oloba of Uso; Guest Speaker, Comrade Babatunde Ali, former governorship aspirant of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP); Chairman of the Occasion, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, representing Ondo Central District; and Special Guest, Hon. (Chief) Ifedayo Abegunde Abena, Director of Corporate Services at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Dr. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, will grace the event as Special Guest of Honour.
