Defection Shockwave: Ex-VP Namadi Sambo Dumps PDP for APC Ahead of 2027
Former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Namadi Sambo, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), signaling a major political shift ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sambo, who served as Nigeria’s Vice President between 2010 and 2015 under former President Goodluck Jonathan, was also the Governor of Kaduna State from 2007 to 2010.
His defection was confirmed through a widely circulated photo showing him alongside Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, solidifying his formal entry into the APC.
Sambo’s move marks one of the most high-profile defections from the PDP in recent years, as political realignments and strategic positioning gain momentum ahead of the next presidential race.
