Ondo Speaker Oladiji Commissions Ultra-Modern Sasere Market to Boost Local Economy
In a bid to enhance economic activities and improve the welfare of his constituents, the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, representing Ondo East Constituency, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, has commissioned a newly constructed market in his constituency.

The project built in Sasere aimed at empowering local traders and fostering grassroots development, reflects the Speaker’s continued commitment to community upliftment.
While commissioning the 30-space ultra-modern market on Saturday, he noted that it was his way of giving back to the people who elected him.
The Speaker, who commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his continual support, acknowledged his passion for grassroots development.
“For so many years, they didn’t have any ultra-modern market, so I decided to do something that would serve as a legacy for my people,” he said.
He urged the market men and women to maintain the facility and encouraged the community to patronise it. “This is their property. They should maintain it properly so they can use it for many years to come.”
While appreciating the people for their support, he assured them of more developmental projects under the leadership of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The APC Chairman of Ondo East Local Government, Hon. Busayo Olamigoke, congratulated the market traders, noting that they would no longer have to sell their wares under the sun or in the rain.
He commended Rt. Hon. Oladiji for prioritising the needs of his people, emphasising that they had indeed voted for the right person.
The Oloja of Sasere, His Royal Highness Oba Adegoke Adesanoye, expressed his happiness and gratitude to the Speaker for fulfilling his promise.
“You have done us proud, and we appreciate your zeal for grassroots development. This market has enhanced the beauty of our community,” he concluded.
The Iyalaje of Sasere, Mrs Florence Adegoroye, praised the Speaker for constructing the market. “He is truly a man of his word. We’ve been displaying our goods under the sun, but now we no longer have to do that. This will significantly ease our lives and boost our economic status.”
Olori Lydia Adesanoye also commended the Speaker for keeping his promise. She noted that the community had long yearned for an ultra-modern market, and now their dream had come true. “I’m glad that God used him for us. We’ve had several representatives, but none of them thought to do this. Now, we no longer have to go to Owena; we have our own market.”
She advised the community to remain united for the progress of the market and ensure it is well maintained.
Mrs Yemisi Akintunde said, “Rt. Hon. Oladiji has done it again. He knows what his people want, and he will do it. I, as a seller, normally go to Owena to sell my goods, but now that we have our own market, I can sell without stressing myself to go to another town.”
Mr Tunde Akinola also described the Speaker’s gesture as highly commendable. He added that Rt. Hon. Oladiji had never neglected his constituents since his election.
