The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, confidently announced that the state is actively open to investors as part of his determined efforts to drive robust economic growth and development.

In a significant meeting with the management board of Sahara Energy at his office in Akure on Tuesday, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed strong appreciation for Sahara Energy’s commitment to investing in Ondo State, underscoring the state’s readiness to foster an exceptional environment for business operations.

“Ondo State stands at a prime moment for investment,” the governor stated firmly. “Although licenses are issued by the federal government, you can count on our unwavering support to ensure your activities flourish.”

He added, “We are resolute in our commitment to maintaining Ondo as the safest state in the country while creating a highly conducive climate for investors.”

Aiyedatiwa emphasized the essential role of private-sector collaboration, affirming that sustainable development is not achievable without strong partnerships. He unmistakably reiterated the state’s eagerness to welcome many more investors.

Engr. Funsho Kupolokun, Chairman of the Board of Sahara Energy, echoed this sentiment in his opening remarks, calling the visit a crucial step for launching their operations in Ondo State.

Engr. Kupolokun revealed that Sahara Energy has recently secured two oil fields—PPL 270 and another yet to be announced—located in the Ilaje area of Ondo State. He remarked, “We bring great news to the Ondo State government, beginning with His Excellency. We seek the governor’s endorsement before commencing operations to establish a harmonious working relationship with the state.”

He assured the governor that Sahara Energy is fully committed to complying with all state laws and regulations.

The meeting also included prominent government officials, such as Deputy Governor Olayide Adelami, Chief of Staff Segun Omojuwa, Head of Service Bayo Philips, and Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kayode Ajulo
