OWO ATTACK: ONDO ASSEMBLY CALL’S FOR MORE VIGILANCE FROM CITIZENS
The Ondo State House of Assembly has called for more vigilance on the part of citizens of the state in order to stamp out all forms of terrorism.
The Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Bamidele Oleyelogun mad the call during a visit with other lawmakers to Saint Francis Catholic Church Owo, where the terror attack happen on sunday.
The lawmakers were received by members of Igbo Community Owo who had been converging on the church premises to brainstorm on how to ameliorate the plight of the victims.
The Speaker said people of the state cannot afford not to take security of lives and property serious as such they must report any unscrupulous elements to law enforcement agents.
He stressed that the unity of the country was not negotiable hence the lawmakers would collaborate and assist victims of the attack.
Also speaking, the Majority Leader who is also an indegine of Owo, Hon Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi appealed to the igbo community whose members were greatly hit in the attack not to allow the incident tint the relationship they had with Owo community.
Ogunmolasuyi commended them for standing firm and upholding the spirit of brotherhood despite loosing many members in the attack.
Other Lawmakers who condemned the attack promised that the lawmaker will always give them all legislative support they need at any time and also that the House will get back to them with their own donation before the end of the week.
While Responding the patron Igbo Community Owo Branch Mr. John Ogbuebetelu who appealed to the lawmakers to help fast track release of funds to care for those on admission demanded that security apparatus be beefed up.
The lawmakers also paid condolences visit to some families that lost their loved ones in the attack.
